Communication Experts Unite to Form LegionThirteen Agency

Integrated Thinking Firm Will Be A Place Where “Ideas Rule”

Providence, RI (September 13, 2010) — Three accomplished communications professionals, Steve Bautista, David Gallone and Larry Marchese, today announced the formation of a unique communications firm, LegionThirteen, based out of Providence, RI.

“My partners and I came from big agencies,” said Bautista. “Big agencies specialize in creating ads. LegionThirteen is distinctly different. We exist first and foremost to generate powerful ideas that solve complex business problems in a myriad of ways for our clients.”

According to the partners, the quality of thinking at LegionThirteen is exceptional because they have assembled a unique cadre of individuals from an array of creative fields. Artists, writers, architects, public relations practitioners, strategists, business thinkers, computer experts and filmmakers are tapped to bring their unique perspectives on problem-solving.

“An idea, born out of superior insight, and executed with relentless passion is our most powerful weapon,” said Gallone. “The creative process is king here and our use of it will take our clients in bold new directions as we bring ideas to life across the expanding spectrum of communication vehicles and channels.”

As it unveils itself to the world today, LegionThirteen has a creative and production team out shooting TV spots for an upcoming integrated campaign for the Rhode Island Lottery. Other clients of the firm include Blount Fine Foods, financial services firm Federal Street Advisors, orthopedic device manufacturer Tornier, Woodbury Health Products, concept restaurant chain Kiss Coffee House, and “underground” apparel brand SKULLebrities, among others.

The partners had each been running their own small agencies for the last several years, and began having discussions about creating a firm that would create a better way to help clients. Thus, LegionThirteen was born.

Bautista, Gallone and Marchese have collaborated at different points of their careers. Gallone and Marchese met while both were working on luxury goods and global tourism accounts at ISM Boston in the early 90’s. Marchese and Bautista first worked together at the late Ingalls, Quinn & Johnson and again when they both held leadership positions at Arnold Worldwide. Bautista, a highly decorated creative director, also worked at Mullen and was at legendary creative shop Leonard/Monahan in its heyday.

The three hold the titles of Managing Partner, but each has specific responsibilities, with Gallone overseeing Design and Marchese brand strategy and integration. Bautista will serve the firm as Chief Creative Officer.

“The three of us have worked on powerful brands, led by smart, daring clients who are now spread out and working in exciting new places,” said Marchese. “We are reaching back to people we respect and trust as we work to drive this firm forward. We are also looking for the next generation of great clients that want to build a powerful and successful partnership with a firm that generates stellar thinking.”
